Sound In Silence is happy to welcome Hessien with their new release, entitled Calcifer EP.

Hessien is the duo of Tim Martin (Maps And Diagrams, Atlantis, Black Elk, Bluhm) and Charles Sage (y0t0, The Rothko Chapel).

Recorded between the Cambridgeshire, UK and Queanbeyan, Australia, Calcifer EP is Hessien’s seventh release, after one full length album and five EPs on labels like Fluid Audio, Handstitched* Recordings, Audio Gourmet and Beko.

Calcifer EP is a 21-minute release that consists of four new and exclusive tracks which have been mastered carefully by George Mastrokostas (aka Absent Without Leave).

The arrangement merges subtle melodies of looped guitars, warm bass and ukulele, together with layers of gentle synths, waves of fuzzy drones and hazy effects of pedals, like delay, reverb and distortion, creating some incredible ambient/post-rock soundscapes.
Mixing both acoustic and electronic, the final result is a delicate dreamy sound, with a wide range of atmospheres, that stands somewhere between the likes of Deaf Center, Windy & Carl, Tim Hecker, Loscil and Brian McBride.

This is a limited edition of 200 handmade and hand-numbered collectible copies, packaged in a lovely hand-stamped blue recycled cardboard envelope with the front cover image printed on a polaroid style photo paper and an insert with the tracklist and credits.
