Sound In Silence is happy to announce the return of David Newlyn, presenting his new album Collected Fictions.

This is his third release on the label after the highly acclaimed album Good Luck (Enigma) in 2014 and his collaboration album O.S. with Yellow6 in 2012.

David Newlyn is an ambient producer based in Durham, UK, who has released many albums and EPs on labels such as Mobeer, Cotton Goods, Symbolic Interaction, Tokyo Droning, Time Released Sound, Hibernate Recordings, Rural Colours, Wist Rec., Polar Seas Recordings and on his own October Man Recordings and Cathedral Transmissions.

Collected Fictions is made up of eight new tracks, with a total duration of something more than 32 minutes. Minimal piano chords, haunting melodic guitars, hazy synths, lo-fi drum patterns, rusted electronics and field recording tapes, all gracefully blending into a superb mixture of soothing ambient and slow moving electronica.
Beautifully mastered by George Mastrokostas (aka Absent Without Leave), Collected Fictions is a sublime album, highly recommended for devotees of The Gentleman Losers, Benoît Pioulard and Wil Bolton.

I like the overall wide, 'empty' darkness of this album (in comparison to other beautiful M&D albums) But it's done in a very serene way somehow. So although it seems quite dark at times, it's calming at the same time. Like there's no need to be afraid and time is just timeless...
