Sound In Silence proudly welcomes FJORDNE & Stabilo to its roster of artists, presenting their split mini album entitled Andrew.
FJORDNE is the solo project of Fujimoto Shunichiro, based in Tokyo, Japan. Focused on two concepts, sound texture and twisted time, he utilizes an array of acoustic instruments and transforms his sounds into a new time span using the laptop computer. To date he has released six albums and one EP on labels such as Kitchen Label, White Paddy Mountain, U-Cover, Dynamophone Records, Ryoondo-Tea and SEM Label. Apart from FJORDNE, he is also involved in several side projects including Fhenomina, Starke and Fraet. He has also provided remixes and collaborated with many artists, including Pjusk, Pawn, Flica and Con_Cetta amongst others.
Stabilo is the solo project of Yasutica Horibe, based in Hiroshima, Japan. He is also member of the post-rock/shoegaze band Speaker Gain Teardrop with whom he has released seven albums so far. Stabilo was born in 2002 when he started making music using mainly a laptop that was difficult to be expressed by his band. To date he has released his music on labels such as U-Cover, Novel Sounds, Mimi Records and others and has many self-produced releases either solo or collaborating with other artists, including Gallery Six, Kazuya Matsumoto, Moshimoss, Moskitoo, FourColor and many more.
Andrew consists of four tracks, two from each artist, that showcase an approach of modern classical and cinematic ambient. Textures of echoed piano and swirling drones perfectly blend with jazz elements, subtle electronic glitches and field recordings, creating warm soundscapes full of nostalgic mood.
The mastering of Andrew has been done by George Mastrokostas (aka Absent Without Leave), giving a great depth and warm feel to its sounds.
A lovely release highly recommended for fans of Akira Kosemura, Federico Durand, Library Tapes, Antonymes and Clem Leek.

Let's put it this way- this is simply one of our favourite works ever!...A collection of variations on a theme that drift by, perfuming the air, or that stop a moment to whisper you a story. Evocative in its sparse beauty, We are sure this will been the permanent playlist always, right alongside Arvo Part's "Alina" and offthesky's "Silent went the Sea" ....ss/tm/am editions vaché
Ten gorgeous compositions from Iceland’s Gísli Gunnarsson that ride the line between ambient & modern classical. Breathtaking. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 25, 2023
Take a trip through the cosmos with these gorgeously expansive songs, that move from haunting ambiance to driving EBM. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 6, 2021
...Yet beyond crafting four distinct atmospheres, it's the evolution of each piece, the change in seasonal sound, that makes Sallaw such an excellent piece of story-telling. Rather than shown the imagery upfront, the listener is instead guided, and left with space to explore on their own. The ability of the trio's minimal musical writing to evoke such a coherent subject is made all the more impressive by the subtlety with which it is achieved.
