Sound In Silence is happy to welcome back David Newlyn, presenting his new album Encouraged To Lose.

This is his fourth release on the label after two solo albums and a collaboration album with Yellow6.

David Newlyn is an ambient producer based in Durham, UK, who has released many albums and EPs on labels such as Mobeer, Cotton Goods, Time Released Sound, Hibernate Recordings, Oscarson, Wist Rec., Polar Seas Recordings, Symbolic Interaction, Tokyo Droning, Rural Colours and on his own October Man Recordings and Cathedral Transmissions.

Encouraged To Lose is made up of five new compositions, with a total duration of something more than 32 minutes. Minimal pianos, haunting melodies, hazy synths, looped samples, lo-fi sounds, rusted electronics, tape loops, field recordings, clicks, glitches and tape speed variations, all gracefully blending into another superb ambient album by David Newlyn, beautifully mastered by George Mastrokostas (Absent Without Leave).
